| Personal Notes: |
| William Clear lived at Lake George, Adelong, Cootamundra, Lake Albert and finally at Yarrock in Gossett Street, Wagga Wagga. He was a carrier and a familiar figure at the Railway Goods Yard in Wagga Wagga. Emma was well-known from Goulburn to Wagga Wagga for her bushcraft. She would travel miles in an open cart to care for the sick. When she was 13 years old, she had an encounter with the bushrangers, Ben Hall, Gilbert and Dunn at Collector. She was with Constable Nelson when the bushrangers shot him. There is an account of her life in The Daily Advertiser April 27, 1937. |
