The late Eustace Osmond, whose death on Monday of last week followed a shooting accident at his home in Goulburn the previous day, was a descendant of Captain Sturt, the famous Australian explorer. Mr. Osmond was born at Tumut and spent his early days at Kiandra, Cooma, and Adaminaby. For 20 years he managed the butter factories at Bolario and Darbalara for the Scottish-Australian Investment Co., and later went into business as a storekeeper at Adaminaby. He went to Goulburn about five years ago and lived in retirement.
One of Nature's gentlemen, the late Mr. Osmond made many friends during his residence in Goulburn. His acts of charity were many, and he was ready at all times to extend a helping hand to those in need.
Besides the widow and two daughters, Sister Antonia (Kathleen), of the Convent of Mercy Goulburn, and Mrs. Corketon (Merle), the late Mr. Osmond leaves one sister, Mrs. McRae (Wagga) and six brothers, George (Narandera), Bert (Cootamundra), Arthur (Cooma), Fred. (New Zealand), Wallie (Nowra), and Theodore (New Zealand). All with the exception of Fred and Theodore were present at the funeral.

The funeral took place at Peter and Pauls Cathedral Goulburn at 3.30 pm for internment at the Catholic Cemetery Kenmore
