George Howard married Frances Clout at Goulburn in 1854. Arriving in Tumut in 1863 they worked a small dairy farm on the Gilmore Creek. George also conducted a bootmaking business in town. Their children were;
>Caroline HoWard (married Alfred Eggins, a draper in Wynyard Street), >Emma Howard (married William Taylor, a boot maker of Adelong), >Mary Howard (married James Hill a son of the flour miller), >Elizabeth Howard (married Spencer Groves, proprietor of the Tumut and Adelong Times), >George Howard's son carried on the bootmaking business at Tumut. |
