Marriage certificate shows married a St Mary's cathedral.
SMH 24 Dec 1864 MARRIAGES. On the 21st instant, at St. Mary's Cathedral, by the Rev. E Athy, Mr. David Maitland Cairney, son of Gordon Cairney, of Delbullon, Dumfrieshire, Scotland, to Miss Honora O'Connor, eldest daughter of Cornelius O'Connor, of Surry Hill, Sydney. Death certificate shows married at Parramatta. And Mart Nora Elizabeth alive and 26 years old in 1905. Born in Cork. 56years in Australis. 10 on Qld, 46 in NSW. Resided Parramatta, Kynuna, Charters Towers. She said she had attended the 'old Normal School' in Parramatta. Religion Roman Catholic Immigration 1852 on Kate with parents. Daughter's birth certificate shows that Honora was living at 619 Burke Street Surry Hills - which is where Conrelius was living. The O'Connors had moved from 619 Burke st (see Cornelius notes) by 1880. Honora left Sydney area (Possibly to Parramatta) in 1895-6. Note that her mother (Mary Barry O'Connor) died in Nov 1896. Possibly the reason for the move away from Sydney. But why Kynuna Station which is a long way from Sydney and anywhere else? Was she going to a relative who lived there/ |
