Personal Notes: |
Noble Soper took the surname of his mother as his only Christian name. Martha Noble had migrated to NSWales in 1841 from northern Ireland and married Tom Soper only four months later.
Noble was one of their sons washed away from their home in the upper reaches of the Shoalhaven in 1852. Following the flood, which had destraoyed their house, the family settled at "Cedar Lodge" at the foot of Mt Cambewarra. As he grew older Noble purchased land alongside Cedar Lodge. Noble married Hannah Prestell at Cambewarra in 1886 and they had four sons: Charles, Noble Jnr, Edward and William. The sons Charles and Noble purchased properties nearby. |
