OBITUARY MRS. JAMES NAUGHTON -Mrs- Louise .lane Naughton, widow of the late James Naughton, of 'The Poplars,' Gilmore, who died rather suddenly last Thursday morning, arose at the usual hour in normal state ot health, and went about household duties, lighting the fire and putting the kettle on to iboil, and, swooning sat hack on the block-seat at the side of the hearth. Miss Kath Stanfield, her neice and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Stanfield, West Blow ering, was in the kitchen at the time and steadied her and' called -for help. ,James Naughton who was milking at the dairy-yards just, at the time hap-pened to come to the house for a cream can and Dr. .J. W. Mason was summoned. Mrs. Naughton made several efforts to speak but could not articulate and lapsed into unconsciousness before the doctor arrived. She never regained consciousness and within a couple of hours expired. Dr. Mason diagnosed the case as a clot, of blood on the brain . Deceased had been ailing for a long period and was attended by Dr. Mason for the past two years for blood-pressure. Deceased was the eldest, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Stantield of West Blowering, and was married to the late James Naughton at the age of 18 years, 30 years ago- The family surviving : are James, Victor, Bert, .Thomas, Annie- (Mrs. 'Early, Sydney), Aggie' (airs.. Thos 'Beattie), Edna (Mrs. Arthur Beattie) and Rita. .There 'are six grandchildren also five brothers ; (William- II-, Tliciui.as, Bert,': Edward, : David) and five sisters (Mrs Brown of Newcastle, Mrs. Mall : ('Bingaru), Mrs. Lay man (Albury); .' Mrs.; J. S. Groves : ( Bowler 's Flat ) and Mary Ann. The funeral: took place on' Friiday, morning from the. residence - for the Tumut Old . Cemetery on Friday, Very Rev . Dean .T. Sharkey .officiating at the graveside and -Messrs. W. H. Fuller conducting the obsequies- The pallbearers wore Messrs. Dave Stanfield (brother), ' Victor Naughton. Bert Naughton (sons), Thomas Naughton (brother-in-law) and Tom and Arthur Beattie (son-in-laws) . |
