Deputy Coroner Sainsbury found that Dinah died on 4th December. Taken at Smiths Creek Daylesford in the Midland Bailiwick of Victoria, this Seventh day of December in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine before the undersigned Henry H Sainsbury Esquire, one of Her Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said Bailiwick, upon view of the body of Diana Trisise then and there lying dead. Having duly inquired when, where, how, and by what means the said Diana Tresise came by her death, I say that the said Diana Tresise died at Daylesford in the said Bailiwick on the Fourth day of December 1899 from a wound in the throat – self-inflicted – whilst temporaly insane As witness my hand this Seventh day of December 1899 Henry H Sainsbury JP"
