MRS RAY STURT The death occurred at the Tumut and District Hospital at 2.30 o'clock on Saturday morning last of Mrs. Johanna Sturt, wife of Mr. Ray Sturt, of Red Hill, at the age of 37 years. Mrs. Sturt had entered the institution on the Wednesday of the week previous, for treatment for influenza and kidney trouble, and incidentally had to undergo a minor operation for facial boils. She took a bad turn on Friday, death ensuing as stated. Deceased was the daughter of late Denis Dunne and Mrs. Dunne of Junee, and the mother of eight children the eldest 18 and the youngest 2 years. Besides these there are four brothers (William and Harry of South Coast, Timothy of Cootamundra, and Dan. of Junee) and two sisters (Mrs. Bobbin of Burrowa, and Mrs. Bayley of Gunning). The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, the remains being interred in the Roman Catholic portion of the 'Tumut New Cemetery, Rev. Ft. J. Sharkey, P.P., being the officiating clergyman, and Mr. H. W. Baker was the undertaker. The bearers of the casket were Messrs Albert French, Arthur Sturt, G. Sturt, L. Sturt, W. Atkinson and Fred. Putland. Profound sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband and the large young family who have lost their best friend, at a period in their lives when they most required her guiding advice and hand.
