The Tumut and Adelong Times 4 Aug 1942
OBITUARY MR. JOHN QUILTY The death occurred at a private hospital, Darlinghurst, on Tuesday last of Mr. John Quilty, formerly of Rosewood, Condobolin. The late Mr. Quilty, who was 78 years of age, was a native of the Tumut district, and although he had been a property owner at Condobolin for many years was quite a regular visitor to Tumut, as he had summer country in the mountains. Some two years ago he disposed of his interest in the Condobolin, property and has since resided in Sydney. His health has not been the best since his retirement, so that his death was not altogether unexpected; but the news was received with regret by a very large circle of friends and relatives. Mr. Quilty, who never married, was one of a very large family, the surviving brothers and sisters being Mesdames Crowe Gobarralong), F. Downing (Gadara), and William O'Brien (Sydney), Messrs. Edward Quilty ( Mondongo) and James Quilty (Wyalong). The funeral left left the Sacred Heart Church, Darlinghurst, on Thursday morning after Requiem Mass for the Waverley Cemetery.
