DEATH OF MRS. JAMES CLAFFEY Mrs. Lucy Claffey, wife of Mr. James Claffey, of "Westwood," Tumut, died at their home on Sunday afternoon, after a prolonged and longsuffering illness. About a fortnight ago her life was despaired of, but she rallied and lingered on till death came as a happy release. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Howe, of Deep Creek, Adelong Road, and leaves a sorrowing husband and family. Four brothers (John, Charles, Frank and James) and Mrs. Tim Malone, Tumut Plains, and Mrs. Michael Connors, Batlow, Mrs Jas. McCormick and Mrs. John Carroll, Uardry Station (sisters), also survive. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, the remains being interred in the Roman Catholic portion of the New Cemetery, Rev. Fr. Sharkey, P.P., officiating. |
