ORANGE BLOSSOMS AT MIRANI.
On Thursday last at Mirani a quiet but very pretty wedding was solemnised by the Rev. Gillespie, when Janet, eldest daughter of Mrs. Curran, of Mirani was joined in matrimony to Mr. Geo. Heath, from the Mackay Railway Locomotive Department. The marriage took place at the residence of the bride, who was given away by her brother William. Your representative, being a mere man and over bashful, is unable to follow the intricacies of a detailed description of the costumes of the bride and her maid, farther than to state they looked charming. Mr. Heath was supported by his brother. The solemnisation being concluded shortly after one o'clock, the party, mostly relatives of the bride and grooms, sat down to a dainty repast, where the usual happy toasts were offered, honoured and responded to. The wedding gifts were numerous, serviceable and costly. The happy couple left Mirani amid the cheers and well-wishes of a goodly number of friends by the evening's train for Mackay, where they are to reside.

OBITUARY
The death occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. G. Heath, Byron-street, early yesterday morning, of Mrs. Jane Curran (relict of the late. Mr. James Cur ran, of Mirani). The deceased lady was a well known identity in the district having resided here for the past twenty-six years, eighteen of which were spent in Mirani, where she leaves behind a host of friends.
Mrs. Curran, at the time of her death, was 59 years of age, and her husband predeceased her some eighteen years ago. Death was due to Bright's disease. The funeral took place in the afternoon, the Rev. A. Dunn performing the last sad rites at the graveside. A grown-up family of two sons and three daughters are left to mourn their sad loss. One son and one daughter (Mrs. Heath) are married, and all of them reside in the district.
