Personal Notes: |
George and Marion Elworthy's fifth child, Charles Henry 1874, was probably born at Mt Perry where he attended school from Jan 1880 to June 1891 - No 13 on the enrolment list. In 1902 he was chairman of the Mt Perry MUIOOF and in 1904 was secretary of the Racing Club. Not much has come to light about Charles who married Mackay-born Ivy Winifred OVERMAN born 1880 amd settled in that town where their seven children were born and George, their first-born, died in infancy.
The next son, who was named for his father, wed Joan ROBINSON in Perth and died in Melbourne. A daughter Jacqueline was born in Mackay, married Graham BECHEZ and was reported as living in Melbourne. 1903 Electoral Roll, Heusman Street, Tenningering (Mt. Perry). Charles and Ivy were listed in the Electoral Rolls living at Pleystowe from 1917 to 1942 but were missing in 1935. He worked at Pleystowe Mill, first as a weighbridge clerk and later as a carpenter. |
