MR J. HAMILTON Wed June 26 1935
The death at his home at Lakemba on June 18, of Mr. John Hamilton at the age of 71 years, removes a former well-known farmer from between Junee and Nangus fifty years ago. After retiring from farm life Mr. Hamilton resided at Junee for some years.

Many years ago he went to reside in Sydney. He is survived by his wife and two sons, John (Wyalong) and Matthew(Lakemba). One son, Thomas, was killed in action in France. Six stepchildren also survive — Arthur Bennett (Mitta, V.), George (Wangaratta, V.), Charles (Albury) William (Grenfell), Mrs M. Roach (Junee), and Mrs. Gladsby (Coolabah).

John was also survived by three brothers —Robert of (Rose Vale, Illabo), James (Temora), Thomas (Bellingen), and one sister, Mrs. Allison Bell (Belmore). The burial took place in the Anglican portion of the Rookwood cemetery and was largely attended.
